Bandwidth

A term frequently used to describe how much data you can send through a transmission channel. The literal meaning is the difference between the highest and lowest transmission frequencies. The greater the bandwidth, the faster the rate of data transmission. This is often indicated by giving the measurement in bits per second (b.p.s.)
