Hardware components of the PC Read-Only memory is a variety of RAM for storing data that is permanently recorded. Once data is written on the ROM chip, it can be read but not altered or removed. ROM data is retained even when system power is turned off. An example of ROM memory is the BIOS on the motherboard. See the section on BIOS for further details on this area of hardware. |
